Edward B. Teverbaugh is claimed by death- Well known businessman succumbs of heart trouble after brief illness
Edward B. Teverbaugh, 51, a prominent and highly respected citizen of Muncie and for many years one of the leading grocers of the city, died of heart failure, at his home, corner Franklin & Main streets, yesterday morning at 6 am. For some time Mr. Teverbaugh had been in a serious physical condition, being afflicted with a complication of diabetes, but his death was unexpected. For many years Mr. Teverbaugh owned a grocery at the corner of Main & Franklin streets, but he sold this not long ago, retiring from business on account of his health. He was a member of the Maccabee lodge and the High Street M.E. Church. He was born in Delaware county and was the son of Mr. & Mrs. John Teverbaugh. He is survived by the following: the widow, Mrs. M Emma Teverbaugh; daughter, Mrs. Eugene Short of Indianapolis, son Ralph; 2 brothers, William of Albany and Earl of Ft Wayne; and 1 sister, Mrs. Wil Heffner of this city. A daughter died a few years ago. The funeral will be held Thursday afternoon at 2 pm in the residence and will be in charge of the Rev W.W. Martin, assisted by the Rev. J.E. Ervin. The Maccabees will be in charge and burial will be made in Beech Grove Cemetery.
