(1) Mehitable (Minot) Messinger who d. 1690, "that he was married again may be inferred", "he died on Tuesday night, 7 November, 1732, having 'been a worthy SchoolMaster in the Town upwards of Forty Years: Aged 67 Years, and was decently Interr'd', states the New England Journal, of 13 November, 1732, 'on Saturday last, his Scholars Walking in Order before the corpse'."

Gent'n", dated 5 May 1732, proved 30 Nov 1732 ["Edward Mills the other Executor being out of the Province in parts beyond Seas"], names wife Ruth ["things as I had with her upon Marriage"], son Edward Mills Jun'r ["two Negroes namely Jack and Dinah", mentions "my Negro Brantrey" who is given a bed]. Wife Ruth Mills and only son Edward Mills Jun'r to be executors; friends Thomas Cushing Esq'r and Thomas Cushing Jun'r of Boston to be overseers. 20 Mar 1732[/33]: Inventory of Mr Edward MIlls late of Boston Gent. Dece'd: £2286.17.6, by Tho's Cushing, Dan'l Henchamn, Samuel Kneeland. 21 Mar 1732: sworn to by Ruth Mills one of the executors.
