Y. ; he served in the war for the Union, from the beginning, as an officer in the New York regiments until the time of his death, which resulted from a wound received three days previous in the battle of Pleasant Hill, La. ; he was at that time lieut. of the 2d, Vet. Reg. N.Y. cavalry ; he left two children,
i. Mary Eliza, b. May 18, 1856, d. 1868;
ii. Edward b. Feb. 3, 1858.
