Oldest stone in Plymouth Burial Ground: "Here lyeth a body of Edward Gray, Gent., aged about 52 years, and departed this life ye last of June, 1681."
    [Birth calculates to about 1629.]

The sixteenth day of July was baptised Thomas Graie sone of John Graie.
    Ano Doni 1623.
The fifteenth day of Aprill was baptised Edward Graie sone of John Graie.
[Note: this baptism of Edward is five years off based on the age at death on the gravestone. See various sources, suggesting uncertainty whether this baptism actually applies to this person, cited and quoted on Person:Thomas Gray (53). For this reason, the estimated birth has been left in place, even though it hides the baptism. The baptism is reported in at least one source (Source:Scott, Fred W. Clifton William Scott and Mildred Evelyn Bradford Scott of Ashfield, Mass) as 15 Apr 1628 but this is probably an ill-advised attempt to reconcile it with the age at death, since the printing of the records show they were grouped into years, and this grouping confirms it actually was recorded in 1623.]
