B. Brown plot Martha A. Hickey, wife of E. B. Grammer, born Dec. 10, 1882, aged 25 years, 3 mos. 7 days.

”Pioneer Town of Liberty, San Joaquin, California”, by Barbara Crowell Filbin, 1980, Lulu, an online publication service, page 102 says he is buried next to his wife. There is also a listing for Martha Ann Grammar d. 1907 that may be his daughter. This grave is not listed in the SJGS compilation.

According to the information posted on the Galt Area Historical Society site: http://www.galthistory.org/history/liberty/index.htm he was the first white child born in Liberty Township.

Lodi News Sentinel, 12 Dec 1932 Funeral rites Held for Galt Pioneer Funeral services for Edward B. Grammer, aged Galt pioneer who passed away in a Sacramento hospital Monday, were held this morning at 10 o’clock from the Methodist Church in Galt. Rev. J. C. Cunningham officiated with internment in the Liberty Cemetery under the direction of the Wells Funeral Home. Pallbearers were F. W. Harms, F. G. May, H. R. Mullins, C. C. Burnett, A. C. Loll and James Rearden. Mr. Grammer was one of the earliest residents of this part of the state, having lived in Galt 78 years.
