    A transcription of his will:

    In the name of God Amen, the 27 day of January 1675 according to the computation of the Church of England I Edward Goodwyn of Treveglwys in the County of Montgomery yeoman being of perfect memory praised be God doe make and ordain this my Last will and testament in manner & form following, viz

    First I bequeath my soule into the hands of Almighty God my maker, hoping that through the meritorious death and passion of Jesus Christ my only saviour and redemer to receive pardon and forgiveness of all my sins, and as for body to be buried in Christian buriall at the discretion of my executrix hereafter [...]
    Item I give to my son Edward one shilling, Item to my son Thomas one shilling Item to my daughter Margaret one shilling, Item to my daughter Margery one shilling, Item to my daughter Joan one shilling, Item to my son Robert one shilling, Item to my son John one shilling, Item to my son Gabriell on shilling, Item my lease, and all the rest of my goods whatsoever I give unto Audery my wife upon condicion that shee shall pay all my debts and legacies and remain a widow during her life, But if shee doth take or shall be Married to another husband. I doe give and bequeath five parts of all my Goods (after my debts and forementioned legacies are payd) unto my youngest daughter Joan and unto my tree youngest sons Robert, John, & Gabriell to be divided in four parts equally amongst them at the oversight of Thomas Goodwyn and Ralph Goodwyn my two brothers and Edward Goodwyn my son, And my Lease and the third part of my Goods unto Audery my wife and doe make the executrix of this my last will and testament revoking all other wills and testaments In witnesse whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seale the day and year first above written
