A lifetime resident of Angelina County he retired fromLufkin Industries after 32 years and was a member of HarmonyHill Baptist Church. Survivors: wife Iola of Lufkin; son Tony W. Adkins of Lufkin,daughter Mrs. Connie Bowers of Lufkin; step-son Dee Modisette ofBossier City La; step-daughter, Sharyn Polk of Corpus Christi;brothers Jimmerson Adkins of Bronson, Cordell Adkins of Jasper,and Winfred Buck Adkins of Santa Fe NM; sisters Mrs FrancesPratt of Geneva and Mrs Willa Mae Butler of Sante Fe NM; ninegrandchildren; three great-grandchildren; several nieces andnephews.
