    Edna L. Kohrs, 86, of Peoria, Ill., died at 2:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 29, 2000, at her home.

    Born Sept. 26, 1913, in Ebeneezer (sic,) Saskatchewan, Canada, she was the daughter of Charles F. Frederick and Lydia M. Bretschneider Zummach. She married Walter E. Kohrs on Feb. 8, 1934, in Burlington. He died June 16, 1991.

    Mrs. Kohrs was the daughter of a circuit minister of German-based churches. She was raised in Saskatchewan and lived in a sod-roofed log cabin. The family moved to Burlington, where her father was pastor for many years of Oak Street Baptist Church. She moved to Peoria in 1941.

    She was a member of State Park Baptist Church and active in volunteer programs for the Salvation Army, the R.G. LeTourneau company chorus and other areas. She was an accomplished organist and pianist and was a church organist for many years. She attended Coe College.

    Survivors include two sons, [names of living individuals have been removed;] one daughter,[names of living individuals have been removed;] nine grandchildren; and two great-grandsons.

    Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at Wright & Salmon Mortuary in Peoria, Ill.

    The funeral for Mrs. Kohrs will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Wright & Salmon Mortuary, with the Rev. Bob Smith and Capt. Jim McDowell officiating. Burial will be in Swan Lake Memory Gardens.
