The identity of K Watkins is unknown. Daniel and Edna are not known to have had children. Perhaps this is a nephew.

I have just received a letter from Auntie Lib & one from our sister Mary and they each spoke of you and the changes that had come to your home and heart to say that you are now happy and they are also glad for you. Will you dear brother allow me to offer my congratulations to you & yours also. I am so glad for you. I have always loved you as much as it is any ways at all possible for an elder sister to love a younger brother and you being my only brother my affections were stronger it seems to me. But circumstances have for many years have kept us apart and from showing that affection that was really always in my heart. But now I am glad that circumstances have changed for the better and that you may now enjoy a happy old age. God bless you and your dear wife and may you each be happy is the prayer of your sister Ella. I do not know if you still live at Russelville.

Nancy Elen (Ella) is writing to Daniel Watkins (Capt.) concerning his recent re-marriage to Lottie (Webb) Cox. The letter is written 4 months after the wedding. His failed marriage to Etta Lakin must have been the “circumstances” being discussed. Nancy is the oldest sister, 8 years older than Daniel. Sister Mary is Mary Elizabeth, 2 years younger than Daniel. Auntie Lib is unknown.
