Buried Edmund the Son of Francis and Eliz Stanton December 6th 1795
Although the parish record clearly says 'buried', I believe that this is an error. The register containing the entry is a mixed baptisms and burials register, thus it would be very easy for the clerk to write the wrong word. There is no corresponding baptism for an Edmund son of Francis and Elizabeth prior to this burial. However, there is an Edmund Stanton who otherwise appears from nowhere in Hinxworth in 1817 to marry Patty Street, and who in the censuses claimed to have been born about 1795 in Hinxworth. I therefore strongly suspect this register entry should say 'baptized' not 'buried'.
