"1 Edmund¹ Elliot, of Amesbury, 'husbandman' or 'planter,' b. ab. 1629; m. Sarah²?? Haddon (Jarrett¹) [The probate records and Merrill are incorrect in calling her Elizabeth. John Elliott, in a deed to Rev. Thomas Wells, in Sep., 1685, speaks of his mother, Sarah Younglove, and the Salis, rec. call her Sarah.]. He was taxed in S. 1652; recd. land in S. 1654; in A. 1659, '62, '66, and '68; oath al. at A. 1677; was of A. in 1680 …. He d. ab. 1683. Will Feb. 26, 1675; March 17, 1683-4. Richard Currier testified that Edmund Elliot came to him and made his will 'when he was going to the wars.' In case of death of wife and son, property was to go 'to my nearest relatives yt are in England.' Inv. est. Jan. 2, 1683-4, over £480. Wid. Sarah m. bef. Sep., 1685, (_____) [Samuel] Younglove, and was living in 1687, by Haddon's will. Child: 2 … John,² b. Sep. 25, 1660[S]; m. ab. 1685, Naomi Tuxbury.
