Edmund and his brother Josiah Davis were among the earliest settlers in New London. They came to New London from Dunbarton, NH. Josiah settled on the Amos Hastings place at the West Part, and Edmund located first on the Dr. Ezekiel Morrill and Austin Goings land near by. Later Edmund sold his first clearing to Jonathan Herrick and moved to the Benjamin Davis place near Soonipi Park. later he lived on part of the Horace Clark farm, Summer St. where he died.
