[Note: this source claims Ebenezer had a second wife, but that is inconsistent with his own account and the records, which both say his first wife lived until 1774, i.e., survived him. The widow Margaret Hammond, the second wife referred to by Jackson, actually married Ebenezer's brother Daniel as Daniel's second wife, and was Daniel's widow, a confusion probably caused by another Jackson error, reporting Daniel's death as 1749 instead of the actual 1755, thus rendering Daniel's 1750 marriage to Margaret a source of confusion.]
