Ebenezer Harwood and his wife resided in Littleton, Massachusetts,thence removed to North Brookfield, Massachusetts in 1743. He enlisted 9 April 1745 in Captain Olmstead's company, under Sir William Peperell, in the war against the French. The expedition was an effort to drive the French from the Island of Cape Brenton, Nova Scotia. Ebenezer Harwood was killed at the first capture of the fortress at Louisburg.[3]

    "3. Ebenzer, son of Peter 2, b. Concord, Feb. 22, 1714, m. Dorothy Hubbard, who d. Brookfield, Aug. 15, 1809. He removed from Concord to Littleton, 1737, with his father and brother Joseph, and thence to North Brookfield in 1743-4. In Apr. 1745, he joined the secret expedition against Louisburg, enlisting in Capt. Olmstead's Company, under Sir William Pepperell of the American land forces, where he was killed June 17, 1745. His widow drew his prize money at Boston, Feb. 15, 1748, he being in the service over two months. ... After Ebenezer's decease his widow m. (2) at Worcester, July 5, 1750, Nathaniel Bartlett of North Brookfield."
