↑ Sheldon says Ebenezer was living in 1720, presumably on the basis of two deeds dated 24 Jun and 25 Jun 1720 (Hampden deed C:608 Abigail Stebbins to brother Ebenezer, C:609 Jonathan Taylor and wife Sarah to brother Ebenezer). For unknown reasons, he appears not to have investigated other deeds in Hampden County, some of which show Ebenezer was alive considerably later than that. D:445: Ebenezer of Deerfield sells land with other heirs of William Brooks: Nathaniel Brooks and Joseph Brooks of Deerfield, Benjamin Brooks and Deliverance Brooks of Springfield to brother Jonathan Brooks of Southfield on 15 Jan 1701/02. D:441: Ebenezer of Deerfield with wife Elizabeth sell land on 24 Mar 1714/15, acknowledged 3 May 1723 D:477: Ebenezer of Deerfield sells several parcels including "three wood lots recorded to William Brooks" on 18 Mar 1724/25, acknowledged 15 May 1725. R:259: Ebenezer of Deerfield with Nathaniel of Deerfield sell land "formerly our Honoured Fathers William Brooks Deceased", on 15 Feb 8th year of his Majesties Reign (1734/35), acknowledged by Ebenezer only 24 Mar 1739/40.
