[Note: It is clearly impossible that Douglas is the son of Ezekiel and Ruth, being 11 years before their next child and born when the parents were well under age. The original record (here, p. 172 right, 12th record) shows a mother's name that is hard to read, and can easily be construed to be either ruth or amity as one chooses. But the date insists that it is amity.]
