DOROTHY KAY KING---On December 21, 1946, beautiful baby girl was born to Mr. & Mrs. Eugene Williams. This little girl was given the name, Dorothy Kay. She was always a very care-free & happy child & her wonderful smile endeared her to the hearts of her family & friends. She grew up in the Independence Community & graduated from the Stockton High School in May of this year. August 16, 1964 she was united in marriage to David King. Kay & her young husband were extremely happy & both of them had such a sweet smile that it won for them a multitude of friends. After four months & eight days of a happy wedded life, death claimed them both. Their families & friends were deeply grieved & shocked when news came that they both were found dead at their home. The death angel appeared sometime during the early morning hours & on wings of love bore away the sweet spirit of our darling. Kay's untimely death has left its sting upon all of us. To give up our beloved in the very height of life & activity, to instantly wreck happy plans for a useful future, to deprive us of their love & devotion is a blow which almost breaks the heart & is one of the bitterest dregs in our cup of sorrow. But this great sorrow is not borne by the immediate family alone because friendly hearts share the grief & above all the love of God surrounds us & promises to take away the heartache. Kay was saved a few years ago & today she's rejoicing with God around the great white throne. Knowing that she is safe in the arms of Jesus, we shall look foreward with hope of seeing her again. Kay leaves to mourn her passing the following: Her father & mother, Eugene & Hannah Mae (Sell) Williams; five brothers, Gene Alden and Wayne Williams of Stockton; Dannie of Kansas City and Mike & Steve of Stockton; one sister, Mrs. Carolyn Roberts, of Lee's Summit; one grandmother, Mrs. Alice Williams of Stockton; the mother & father-in-law, Mr. & Mrs. Howard King; four sisters-in-law, Jean, Judy, and Shirley Williams and Cleva Sell; two brothers-in-law, Dale Roberts & Ralph King; several aunts, uncles, and a host of other relatives and friends.

Last rites for this young man & woman were conducted in the Stockton high school auditorium by Elder Clyde Bough and the Rev. H.C. Dykes on Saturday afternoon, December 26, 1964. The relatives and friends who attended taxed the capacity of the auditorium. Interment was in Stockton city Cemetery under the direction of the Cantlon funeral Home.
