Joseph Barker and his wife Ruth _____ were called, in the will of Dorothy (Hunt) King of Weymouth, made 14 June, 1652, "my son" and "my daughter," the former being made executor of said will. The testator was the wife of John King, seaman, of Weymouth, and formerly the wife of Enoch Hunt of Weymouth, 1639 to 1647. The testator had a daughter, Sarah Hunt, born at Weymouth, 4 July, 1640, unmarried on 14 June, 1652, and another daughter called Susannah Heath on the last-named date. It is evident that Susannah Heath was, on 14 July, 1652, the wife of Peleg Heath of Roxbury. … Dorothy Barker was admitted to the First Church of Dorchester before 4 Nov. 1639. (See Register, 5:239.) She was probably the mother of Joseph Barker, and three times [two times; widow of _____ Barker and of Enoch Hunt. John King survived her and married again] times a widow.

Dorothie King, wife of John King of Weymouth, seaman, made her will 14 June, 1652, bequeathing to her daughter Sarah Hunt her movables "which were mine betore I married with my now husband John King; … the care of her I committ to Mr. Thomas Thatcher, Mr. Richard Collicott and John Kingsley of Dorchester." To her daughter Ruth Barker and to her daughter Susannah Heath other things. Her husband John King to be saved harmless from debts. Her son Joseph Barker to be executor, and he to have her right in her servant Thomas Perriman. In case Ephraim Hunt sue her son Joseph as executor for disbursements to herself, the expense to be borne equally. Mr. Thomas Thatcher, Mr. Richard Collicott and her husband to be overseers. Witnesses: William Thompson and Jone Smyth. William Thompson made oath 21 Oct. 1652, and it was proved 17 Nov. 1652. The inventory was taken 18 Oct. 1652. (Register, 5: 239; 8:60.) She died at Weymouth between 14 June, 18 Oct. 1652.
