PARKER CITY--Dorothy Alice Golliher, 85, formerly of Parker City, IN, died early on Tuesday morning, May 22, 2012.
She was born July 4, 1926 in Muncie, the daughter of Mardell and Forrest Huffer. She married Richard L. Golliher on May 1, 1943. Richard preceded her in death in 2001.
She was a graduate of Losantville High School and worked as the school secretary at Union High School in Modoc, IN for several years. She returned to college and earned both a bachelors and a masters degree from Ball State University. Dorothy served on the faculty at Chrysler High School in New Castle, IN until her retirement several years ago. She and her husband had attended Parker United Methodist Church of Parker City, IN.
She is survived by two sons, Michael Golliher (wife-Dianna) of Milton, KY, and Kenneth Golliher of Louisville, KY; two former daughters-in-law, Bonnie Golliher of Lebanon, MO, and Judy Golliher of Louisville, KY; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
A service to celebrate Dorothy's life will be 2 p.m. Saturday, May 26, 2012 at Thornburg Memorial Chapel of Parker City, IN, with Pastor Sherrie Drake officiating. She will be buried next to her huband of 57 years in Riverside Cemetery near Losantville, IN. Family and friends may gather to share and remember from 1 p.m. to service time on Saturday at the funeral home.
