[Note: birth of daughter in 1698 is a typo, as the baptisms of two daughters named Dorothy are recorded in Ipswich VRs in 1717 and Marblehead VRs in 1719. Dorothy is not included in the author's earlier article in Source:Essex Genealogist (Massachusetts) (Essex Society of Genealogists), Vol. 1, p. 18, but a Dorothy [Alin, Astin?] signed a receipt for a legacy from the will of her grandmother Hannah (Cheney) Smith so this addition is thought to be valid. Note that this author's birth estimates for this family are simply 20 years before marriage and the actual date and order could be different.]
