Donna Carlson

   Donna E. Carlson, 88, of Bremerton died of congestive heart failure May 7, 2002, at her home.
   She was born Nov. 27, 1913, in Cass County, Mich., to Charles and Blanche (Slipper) McLain. She graduated from Garden City Community College in Garden City, Kan.
   She married Alvin E. Carlson in 1946 in Bremerton. He preceded her in death in 1998.
   Mrs. Carlson was a homemaker. She had worked in the supply department at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard during World War II.
   She had served on the board of the Washington Federation of Garden Clubs and as president of the Cross Sound District of Garden Clubs. She was a member of the East Bremerton Garden Club.
   Survivors include a daughter, Christine L. Christensen and her husband, Steve, of Bainbridge Island; a niece, Wanda Treick of Kent; one grandson, Mark Christensen of Seattle; and four grand nieces, Tamara Treick of Auburn, Barbara Treick of Portland, Ore., Debbie Keith of Okanogan and Sandy Shipman of Gig Harbor. She also was preceded in death by a sister, Velma Ashby.
   Services are private. Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Kitsap County, P.O. Box 3416, Silverdale, WA 98383-3416.
