Donald E. Welker Donald E. Welker, 74, of Cuba, died at 11:40 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 17, 2002, at his residence. Born July 22, 1928, in Middle Grove to Joseph and Nina Morse Welker, he married Bernice Edwards in 1948. He later married JoAnn Taylor in 1961. He married Mary Franks on May 17, 1973, in Phoenix, Ariz. She survives. Also surviving are three sons, Joseph Welker of Canton, Lee Sprabary of Phoenix and Jerry Sprabary of St. Louis, Mo.; five daughters, Donna (Dale) Meyer of Havana, Tracey (Jeff) Hedges and Susan Sprabary, both of Canton, Kim (Rob) Craver of London Mills and Lori (David) Anderson of Middle Grove; 23 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and one brother, Evan (Marilyn) of Farmington. He was preceded in death by four brothers. He worked as a lineman on the railroad for 16 years. He later worked in maintenance for area banks and worked for Welker Disposal and also Record Disposal in Ellisville. He was of the Methodist faith. Services were held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Anderson-Sedgwick Funeral Home in Farmington with the Rev. David Swain officiating. Cremation was accorded following the service. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or Spoon River Hospice of Graham Hospital
