Facts and Events
Name Doeris Van Camp
Gender Unknown
Birth[1] 14 Jul 1791 prob. Matilda, Dundas, Ontario
Christening[1] 4 Sep 1791

The christening of this child is the only record known under this name. There is a substantial chance that this is actually a reference to Jacob and Hannah's son Tunis (also spelled Teunis, Tunas, etc.). The Lutheran minister may have been unfamiliar with the name Tunis, the Dutch form of Anthony, and recorded it as he perceived it. (The "r" in "Doeris" is most ill-fitting part for this hypothesis; perhaps it a misreading or misrecording of an "n".)
