Diane Thompson, 38, passed away Monday, December 24, 2012. Diane was born February 16, 1974, in Topeka, KS, to Glenn and Sharon Atwood. She graduated from Mission Valley High School. Diane married Kenny Thompson on August 14, 1993. She was a daycare provider and also worked at the Apple Market in Auburn, KS. Diane was a wonderful mother to four beautiful children. She was preceded in death by her sister, Darla Atwood, grandparents, Henry and Dorothy Fry and Irvin and Lenora Atwood, and uncle, Jim Atwood, Topeka. Diane is survived by her loving husband, Kenny, her children, Cody, Lacey, Hanna, and Kellie Thompson, parents, Glenn and Sharon Atwood, Harveyville, two brothers, Terry (Dahlia) Atwood and Bill (Kim) Atwood, and three nephews and a niece. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 29, 2012, at the Auburn Community Center, 121 W 11th Street, Auburn. Burial will follow at the Auburn Cemetery. Diane will lie in state at 1:00 PM on Friday, December 28, 2012, at Penwell Gabel Southwest Chapel, 3700 SW Wanamaker Road, and the family will greet friends from 6:00 8:00 PM.
