APLINGTON—Dennis Ubben, 64, of Aplington, died on Thursday, July 26, 2007, at the Presbyterian Village in Ackley.

Funeral services were held on Monday, July 30, at the United Methodist Church in Ackley, with burial in the Oakwood Cemetery, Ackley. Full Military Rites were provided by the Elliott-Keninger Post No. 252 of Ackley. The Sietsema Funeral Home in Ackley was in charge of the arrangements.

Dennis was born on February 15, 1943 in Aplington, the son of Harm and Mildred (Harken) Ubben. He graduated from the Ackley High School in 1961 and Ellsworth College, where he played football. Dennis was in the U.S. Army, serving during the Vietnam War. He had farmed and was a member of the United Methodist Church in Ackley.

Dennis is survived by his uncles and aunts, Tako and Grace Ubben of Aplington, Evelyn and Bill Keninger of Ackley, Merna and Gordon Sietsema of Hampton and Emma Harken of Ackley; and many cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Darrell.
