    Deacon Dennis Davis was born in Champaign, County, O., Sept. 16, 1833, and died at Garwin, Iowa, June 20, 1905. He united first with the church at Jackson Center, O., and on removing to Iowa, in 1866, transferred his membership to the Garwin church, which soon after called him to be its deacon. In this capacity he, for the remainder of his life, served the church conscientiously, being a man of strong, well-founded convictions. He was married to Miss Elizabeth Jane Davis, Jan. 1, 1857, who, with two married daughters, survives him. His loss is deeply felt by the Garwin Church.
