Delphie lived on a farm at Mangaroa. Went to Ihakaria School & Koputoroa School. Never went to high school and left with school leaving certificate at 12 years old to work on family farm. Was very handy at sewing making toys and clothes. In latter years worked at War Vets Home till she retired in 1986.
