Spelling of first name Davis or David. Year of birth and death uncertain. He was on the census in 1871 but not 1881. They received a land grant in Thurlow Tsp., Hastings Cty. near Belleville where they lived for a short time then in 1851 census of Madoc they show up there. They lived in Sydney Tsp. for a time. Hungerford Tsp in 1846. Aunt Grace was not able to document Davis as a son to Samuel but she consulted with 2 genealogist there and they think the presumption is correct.
