Sidney Perley in the introduction to his compilation of the diaries of Lemuel Wood, IEHC, Vol. 19, p. 62, says that David m. (1) Marcy ---, m. (2) 1746 Mary Hovey. This, combined with the fact that Marcy's death is recorded long after 1746 under her maiden name might suggest to some that they divorced. However, the second marriage was for a "David Wood of Lunenburg", and the Hovey book attributes six children born in Lunenburg to them, while in Boxford, overlapping those births, Marcy is still listed as the mother to David's children born after 1746, namely Irene 1749 and David 1755.
