NOTE: David's parents are frequently given in poorly researched sources (and on Ancestry.com) as "Samuel Winstead" & "Winnifred Vanlandingham," but this is almost certainly NOT the case. Samuel was born in 1701 & Winnifred c.1705 -- though her birth is also erroneously given in the same undependable sources as 1742, for no cited reason & ignoring the birth dates of all her proven children. It's very unlikely she was still having children at the age of 65. . . .
