Information from "Biographical Record of Civil War Veterans of Tusc. County", which is from "Excerpts from Presidents, Soldiers and Statesmen", originally published in 1892.
In 1892 at the publication of this book, David Weller was living in Mineral Point, was a laborer, and belonged to Kaldenbaugh Post #676, and received a pension. He enlisted 2/19/1864 as a in Co. K, 51st OVI, 2nd Brig., 4th Div., A.C. and was transferred from Co. K. to Co. B. in 1864. He was in hospital at Nashville, TN in 1864 about 4 weeks and in same year was given a 30 day furlough, rejoining his regiment at expiration of time at Huntsville, AL. He took active part in the battles of Rocky Face Ridge, Resaca, Dalton, Peach Tree Creek, Kenesaw Mt., Jonesboro and several smaller engagements and was honorably discharged 10/3/1865.
Comrade Weller was born in Tuscarawas County Ohio 9/17/1844 and was a son of Frederick D. Weller, born in 1808 and died April, 1864, and Rosan C. Kaner, b. in 1807 died Feb. 3, 1888.
