"4. Lieut. David2 Waterbury (John1), died 20 Nov. 1706; married first, Sarah Newman, daughter of William; married second, 11 Aug. 1698, Sarah Weed, born 18 Nov. 1675, daughter of Daniel and Ruth. He was commissioned Ensign of Dragoons, April 1690, and Lieutenant of the Stamford Trainband, May 1690; and often served as Deputy. His will, dated 24 Mar. 1703/4, named his son John (who got considerable land at Noroton River), son David (who was to have the dwelling house), son Ebenezer, wife Sarah (executrix), and three daughters, Elizabeth, Sarah and Ruth; a codicil 20 Nov. 1706 refers to the fact that he now has another child, Mercy."
