    Son of John and Sarah Ware; he married Margaret "Peggy" Bare Nov. 27, 1841 in Preble County, Ohio.

    David Ware’s first marriage was to Sarah Woodring, in 1837.

    Margaret “Peggy” (Bare) Ware had at least four children by David Ware: known are Sarah L, Mary Ann, Margaret C., and Martha Jane.

    Four years after Margaret (Bare) Ware died, David married Sophia Swank. That union produced one known daughter, Ida Ware, born 1861.

    Three of the five known children of David Ware survived to adulthood. Wife Sophia died in 1887.

    David Ware, a farmer and teamster, passed away at Dayton State Hospital, after five years of confinement. Cause of death was chronic melancholia.

    Suggested edit: In the bio - "five years of confinement" at Dayton State Hospital should be "fifteen years of confinement". The Dayton Daily News item (13 Jul 1903, p5) says he had been confined since 1888.
