Married Jane Johnston 14 December 1808 in Blount County, Tennessee.
David Walker and his brother Elijah lived side by side. They inherited their father's farm and worked it together. Most of their business was done as partners. The farm was not divided until David's death. He left a will in which he named his children.
Will of David Walker, 7 April 1864:
(1) To my two sons Robert F. and Elijah Walker my one half interest in my home place of 360 acres for which they shall pay the executors $4,000.
(2) All my estate sold and divided between my children and heirs of my two deceased children, viz, John Walker, Mary Edmondson, Wm. A. Walker, Lucinda A. McConnell, Nancy J. Wright, and Amanda A. Walker, each to have one eighth. The heirs of my daughter, Margaret Henderson dec viz, David Walker, Alexander, Mary Jane and Wm. Erskine to share one eighth. "The father (David Walker) of our subject was born in Pennsylvania, and the family moved to Blount County, where the grandfather (John Walker) soon died. David, the father, married Jane Johnston, a native of South Carolina. They died in this county about 1864 and 1855, respectively. The father was a farmer."
