"David (Northrup), born 28 March 1748. He is not carried forward with a number and separate paragraph in Northrup-Northrop. His information appears with that of his father, Nathan. Correction is required to this David's information in Northrup-Northrop. … David son of Nathan married Abigail Wilson 1 February 1770 at South Salem. Any children he may have had apparently did not live. Incorrectly, Northrup-Northrop says in 1841 this David moved from Sherburn, New York, to Ohio. David son of Nathan died 9 November 1823; 'Sacred to the Memory of Deacon David Northrup who died November 9 1823; in the 77 year of his age.' His age of 77 at death accords accurately with the birth date of 1748 offered in Northrup-Northrop. These two date milestones of marriage and age at death confirm this David's identity as Nathan's son. Proof of his identity is clearly established by Virgil D. White. White states 'David Northup, survived by a widow Abigail, served New York Line, W21852, he m Abigail Wilson 1 February 1770 at South Salem, soldier died 9 November 1823, widow applied 16 October 1839 Onondaga County, NY. aged 87.' No surviving children are named."
