... 29. David Mckinlay, born May 16, 1755, in York County, Pa.; died Aug. 8, 1840, in Crawford County, Ohio. Served in the Revolutionary War in the companies of Captains McCaskey, Ross, Laird, Reed, Holderbaum, Sloymaker, Robe and Harnahan.

As a member of the “Flying Camp” he was engaged in the defense of the fort at Paulus Hook (now Jersey City, N. J.), and skirmish at Amboy in 1776, and in the skirmish at Chestnut Hill in 1777. ...
