    'HISTAND, DAVID, the third son of David and Elizabeth (Bechtel) Histand, was born in Upper Providence, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania, November 5th, 1789. In spring, 1816, he left his home which was in Chester County, Pennsylvania, and moved to Canada. ... On March 10th, 1818, he was married to Elizabeth Bechtel who was born August 8th, 1792, and died July 21st, 1885. Soon after their marriage they moved on the farm now possessed by Isaac M. Shoemaker, about two miles north of Preston. Here he died January 6th, 1833, leaving a widow and three children. The widow was married again to old George Clemens.'

    'BECHTEL, ELIZABETH, the sixth daughter of the [George and Elizabeth (Morris) Bechtel] family, was born August 8th, 1792. She was nine years of age when she came to Canada with her parents. On March 10th, 1818, she was married to David, son of David Histand. He was born November 5th, 1789, and died January 6th, 1833. They resided on a farm near Speedsville [where he died]. ... After the decease of Mr. Histand the widow was married (October 27th, 1844) to George Clemens who was born July 16th, 1777, and died August 10th, 1863. She died July 21st, 1885.'
