Obituary (Family) Daphanie Ann "Dottie" Childs (age 58) was born December 18, 1955 and passed away peacefully on March 19, 2014 from a sudden and severe stroke. Dottie grew up in Stafford and lived in Sugar Land for a great portion of her life. Dottie graduated from John Foster Dulles high school and also attended East Texas Baptist University in Marshall Texas where she studied music. Dottie was the owner of Dottie's Gifts in which she loved providing the perfect gift, card, or engraving for her longtime customers. Dottie was also very involved with TMOM (Texas Mother of Multiples), of which she served as the state president. At the time of her passing she was working for J. Loggin's Jewelers. Dottie loved all kinds of music, especially country/western and gospel. She was active in her church, Sugar Creek Baptist, and helped with mission programs. She is survived by her father, Oscar "Eddie" Ammons; her daughter, Dr. Tiffanie Renee Childs; her identical twin sons, Todd Edward Childs and Thomas Blake Childs; her grandson, Westin Childs; granddaughter, Kaylee Childs; and very shortly, a new addition about to be born, Kayden Childs. She is also survived by her brothers Edward Ammons and Richard Ammons. She is preceded in death by her mother, Shirley Davis Ammons, and grandmother, Era Gertrude Hearron. She will be missed by many relatives and close friends from both work and church. She will be most remembered by her smile, her laugh, and her zest for life. Her love for her children and grandchildren was endless. In lieu of flowers, please donate a gracious gift in her name to the American Stroke Association. |
