Daniel Sansom's origins have yet to be established. His first confirmed sighting is on 5th February 1801, when he was married at Quethiock in Cornwall to Mary Harry, who was from the nearby parish of St Ive. They appear to have had at least two children at Quethiock in the first decade of the 1800s.

It has yet to be established what happened to Daniel. One possibility is that he was the Daniel Sansom buried at St Germans on 23rd May 1809.
