Daniel Richardson, s/o Joseph Richardson and Margaret Godfrey, b. Newbury 4 Apr 1692, m. Lydia, lived in Methuen. Will dated 5 May 1768, presented 17 Nov 1774. [Middlesex Probate, box 358]
[There are some possible discrepancies in this entry. It is unfortunate that a fuller abstract of the will is not given. Daniel's brother Thomas lived in Metheun, which appears to be in Essex county, so it is not clear why the will would be in Middlesex. Second, it appears Lydia may be a second wife and widow, but births of his children, the ones named by this source, name the mother as Sarah. There are two marriages of a Daniel Richardson to Lydia recorded in Newbury. The first, in 1751 to Lydia Davis, is identified by this source to be Daniel, nephew of this Daniel. The second, in 1761 to Lydia Merrick, is identified by the Merrick-Mirick-Myrick Genealogy as the first marriage of a Lydia Merrick b. 1740, which is probably wrong, since the marriage record explicitly indicates she was a widow. Instead, it was apparently this Daniel and the mother of the said Lydia, namely Lydia (Brown) Merrick, widow of Joseph.]
