In the birth record of son Daniel, both parents list their age as 37 which would yield a birth date of approx. 1842, however in the birth record of a daughter in 1879 they listed ages as 30 for Mary and 32 for Dan this would yield birth dates of 1845 and 1843

Excerpt from Titan, by Ron Chernow seems to add credence to the item on the death certificate of Margarete (wife) which states they were in Illinois about 10 years
