[Note: the information about Daniel is not entirely clear, but it does not appear to say 6 Mar 1844 aged 42. The memorial page apparently took those values from the town records.]
↑ There are, of course, many Daniel Johnsons, and the uncertainty of his age at death does not help identify this Daniel Johnson. There appears to be no probate, nor deeds, that belong to this Daniel Johnson. The mostly likely candidate seems to be the Daniel Johnson, s/o Baxter Johnson and Eunice Keith, b. Mendon 19 Apr 1800. His father's estate (died 1805) was insolvent and doesn't name the heirs. But Hampshire records show Stephen Johnson of Orange being appointed guardian of Baxter's oldest son Uriel (Hampshire Probate 79-74), and this Stephen appears to be Baxter's brother. If the children were raised by their uncle, this would explain how this Daniel ended up in Orange, and ended up being confused by Allred with the Daniel Johnson that was born in Orange but spent most of his adult life in Warwick.
