Abstract from Maine Wills, p. 755:

Will of "Daniel Fogg of Kittery" dated 25 July 1747, probated 7 July 1755, mentions "my Son James Fogg", "my Son Daniel Fogg", "my well beloved Sons John Fogg, Joseph Fogg & Seth Fogg", "My said four Sons, Daniel John Joseph & Seth", "my well beloved Daughter Hannah Rogers", "my well beloved Daughter Rebecca Pilsbury", "my well beloved Daughter Sarah Hanscom", "my well beloved Grand Children the Children of my Daughter Mary Brooks Dec'd".

Daniel, s/o Samuel, was about twelve years of age, at the time of the death of his father in Hampton. He learned the trade of a blacksmith, and settled at Black Point, Scarborough, ME. He received several grants of land of the town. He m. Hannah Libbey, about 1684.

He left Scarborough at the breaking up of that settlement by the Indians, about 1690, and settled in Portsmouth, - as tradition says, on one of the islands of the Piscataqua. Here he lived until about 1700, when he removed to Kittery (now Eliot) and purchased a farm on the bank of the river, between Frank's and Watt's Forts. It is still in possession of his descendants. He died in 1755 aged 95. He was one of the seven original members of the Congregational Church in Eliot - organized June 22, 1721, the Rev. John Rogers, pastor. Hannah (Libbey) Fogg, his wife, died between 1730 and 1735.
