According to the Pershing book, DANIEL was assumed to be Christian Pershing, Jr's cousin. Apparently the connection made here has not been proved. Daniel sold a farm of 160 acres in Tuscarawas County to Christian Pershing, Jr. in circa 1818. The book says the farm was located near the village of Canal Dover (which is today the city of Dover). The book goes on to say: "where he devoted the remainder of his life to farming". This location is NOT where the Tuscarawas County history books describe his home. See more on Christian's page in this WeRelate website. --White Creek 13:26, 31 October 2012 (EDT) References
