He was commissioned Lieutenant of the Second Company in Newtown, Oct. 1746. He was Representative for Newtown at the sessions of Oct. 1751, May and Oct. 1752, Oct. 1753, May and Oct. 1754, Jan., Mar., May and Aug. 1755, May 1756, Oct. 1757, Mar., May and Oct. 1758, Feb., Mar., May and Oct. 1759, Mar., May and Oct. 1760, May 1761, May 1763, Oct. 1764, and May 1770. His will, 1 Mar. 1775, proved 19 Apr. 1777, named wife Eunice, daughter Esther Hard; grandson John Smith; daughters Sarah Peck, Eunice Glover, Naomi Norton; three sons, Daniel, Abraham, Ezra."
