"81 Daniel5 (Isaac,4 Isaac,3 William,2) born in Wallingford [Branford per VR], 16 June, 1746; married in Waterbury, 4 July, 1771, Hannah Sutleff; died 23 Sept., 1805. She survived him, dying 31 Jan., 1813. During a portion of his minority, he was under guardianship of his uncle Nathaniel Barnes, of Plymouth, then a parish called 'Northbury', in Waterbury. That accounts for his settling in Plymouth as soon as he reached his maturity. In 1768, he was living in Wallingford but soon after returned to Plymouth. He took oath of fidelity there 6 Sept., 1777. In 1779 he again returned to Wallingford, but the following year settled permanently in Plymouth purchasing 'land, house, fruit trees, etc., near but north of the parish church.' He was a farmer."
