McCormick & Co., 1867; became member of the firm of McCormick, Adams & Co. in 1871, and head of the firm of Cyrus H. Adams & Co., 1883; retired from business, owing to ill health, 1889. During period, 1871-89, was mem. of the Arbitration Com., mem. of the Appeals Com. and a dlr. of the Board of Trade. Was dir. Nat. Bank of America. Independent Democrat. Presbyterian. Trustee McCormick Theological Seminary; was member Board of Governors, Presbyterian Hosp. for a number of years; governing mem. Art Inst, of Chicago. Clubs: Union League, Onwentsia, Saddle and Cycle.
