Baum dies at eighty-fiveMrs. Cynthia A. Baum, widow of Benjamin Ward Baum, died yesterday morning at the residence of her daughter, Mrs. W.H.H. Neal, No. 690 West Onondaga street. Mrs. Baum had been a resident of Syracuse for the past forty-four years. On October 28 she celebrated her eighty-fifth birthday and delighted a large party of friends by her cheerful disposition and keen intellect. Her illness, which was attributed to advanced age, developed last Friday.Mrs. Baum's husband was a prominent resident of Syracuse. He died eighteen years ago. Mrs. Baum was a devout member of the Methodist Episcopal Church and found her greatest comfort in church attendance. Since the founding of the Centenary Church she had been a member of that congregation. She was born at New Woodstock, Madison county, in 1820. Her maiden name was Cynthia A. Stanton. She was the mother of nine children, four of whom survive. Those surviving are Dr. Henry C. Baum, Mrs. William H.H. Neal, Mrs. Henry D. Brewster, all of this city, and L.
