    FRANKLINTON - Corrie Babington Corkern, 86, died late Friday, May 11 in Memphis, Tenn. A native of Franklinton, she was reared in New Orleans and returned to Franklinton in 1946. She was a member of Centenary United Metho-dist Church for 60 years and recently Germantown United Methodist Church. A charter member of the Franklinton Woman's Club, Franklinton Garden Club and Washington Art Association, she was a long-time member of United Methodist Women and an avid quilter, doll maker, bridge player and painter.

    She is survived by three daughters and sons-in-law, Corrie and James Fowler of Franklinton, Sandra and Kenny Guillot of Baton Rouge, Judith and Robert Jensen of Mountain Home, Ark.; a son and daughter-in-law; James V. and Jan Corkern of Germantown, Tenn.; two brothers and a sister-in-law, William "Bill" and Mary Babington of Franklinton and Wallace K. Babington of Washington, D.C.; nine grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

    She was preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Myrtle Babington; her husband, James V. Corkern; a brother, Thomas Babing-ton; and a grandson, Mark Fowler.

    A memorial service was held Tuesday, May 15 in Centenary United Metho-dist Church.
