Research Notes

  • Maiden name per marriage record. Also she is buried in the Rees cemetery - a pretty good clue!
  • In 1880 Cora was living with daughter Sophia and her husband Benjamin F. Smith, while suffering from breast cancer. Her father was listed as immigrating from Wales.
  • Note of Caution: re: birth date. Carasy's birthdate is an estimate based on the age at death inscribed on her headstone. Different researcher have reported this in different ways, some as "70yr 1mo 7da" and others as "70yr 4mo 7da", leading to birth dates of "3 Jul 1810" and "3 Apr 1810" respectively. Needs followup.
